This concept helped my team to understand which business goals we have and why they have to do everything. A great way to show the team why their work matters.

As the Efficient Learning Machines contains to many math for me, to get into the topic of machine learning, I decided to read Data Mining and Analysis. It is comprehensive and one of the most named if you search for books about data mining. While I like it, I would recommend you the next one more.
Data Mining: Practical Machine Learning Tools and Techniques

This book is, in my humble opinion, the best book to dive into data mining and application of machine learning for analysis of the data. I’m not through, but it is well written and in the fourth edition recently released, up to date.
The Phoenix Project: A Novel About IT, DevOps, and Helping Your Business Win

This kind of non-fiction novel is a good read for those who are interested in creating flow in the IT organization. The basics principles and theories of Lean, Kanban, Agile and Continuous Delivery are explained along a fictive story. It is a slight read for the evening hours.
The Breach, Ghost Country, Deep Sky – Travis Chase series

I was on a search for books like Daemon and Influx by Daniel Suarez. A thriller, paired with science fiction and a lot of technology. I found this: a science fiction around a portal to… another world, destination, time, parallel universe? Patrick Lee has written a three part thrilling series with the hero Travis Chase. In comparison to the books by Daniel Suarez, there is a lack of real-world technology. But anyway, a good read.
Signal and Runner – Sam Dryden Series
Patrick Lee
Another science fiction series – right now two books, third one in process. The novels are technology based stories, dealing with up to date ethical topics, while not going too deep for a good night read.
